BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
November 10, 2020 via Zoom Video Conferencing
PRESENT: Calcaterra, Frost, Hickman, Jones, Priest, Starnes
ALSO PRESENT: Mullen
ABSENT: Caringer, Guebert, Sarver
The meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm by President Jones.
Visitor(s): None
No correspondence.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: Starnes moved to approve the minutes from October 13, 2020. Calcaterra seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
- Bills to be paid. Priest moved to approve the payment of $3,595.38 for expenses incurred during the 2nd half of the previous month and $3,917.61 for expenses incurred this month to date. Starnes seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
- The previous month’s city budget report has not been submitted. Board members will review the budget report and vote via email before the next board meeting. The budget report was approved via Survey Monkey, 10-26-2020.
- Financial Balance Statement: Calcaterra moved to approve the library balance sheet report from the previous month. Priest seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT: Mullen reviewed stats. Circulation is at 75% compared to October 2019. Use of digital items is at 106% compared to October 2019. There were 1,086 views of the library’s website.

OLD BUSINESS: No old business
NEW BUSINESS:
- The board discussed Chapters 10-13: Serving Our Public 4.0.
- The board reviewed the Property Tax Levy. Calcaterra moved to approve the Property Tax Levy. Starnes seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
- The board reviewed the proposed holiday schedule for 2021. Priest moved to approve the holiday schedule. Frost seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
- December board meeting – The board changed the meeting time from 6 pm to 6:30 pm and will meet via Zoom video conference. The Christmas party was cancelled.
- Tier II Mitigation Plan – The library’s tier II mitigation plan includes limiting employees to no more than 4 at a time in the building and allowing no more than 6 patrons at a time in the building. Curbside service is available at the back door.
