BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
July 13, 2021

PRESENT:                     Guebert, Hickman, Jones, Priest, & Starnes

ALSO PRESENT:           Mullen

ABSENT:                      Calcaterra, Caringer, Frost, and Sarver

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 PM by President Kathleen Jones.

Visitor(s):                     None

No correspondence.  

SECRETARY’S REPORT:   Starnes moved to approve the minutes from June 2021.  Priest seconded.  Motion carried unanimously. 

TREASURER’S REPORT:

  1. Bills to be paid.  Priest moved to approve the payment of carried $2,526.76 for expenses incurred during the 2nd half of the previous month and $3,148.81 for expenses incurred this month to date.  Guebert seconded.  Motion carried unanimously. 
  2. The previous month’s city budget report showed that 19% of the budget (17% of the year completed) has been spent leaving a checking account balance of $56,049.89.   Starnes moved to approve the report.  Priest seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.
  3. Financial Balance Statement:  Guebert moved to approve the library balance sheet report from the previous month.   Starnes seconded.  Motion carried unanimously. 

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:  June saw a 17% decrease in circulation as compared to pre-pandemic June 2019 and a 58% increase compared to June 2020.   Mullen reviewed other data.  Traffic on the library’s website was at its peak.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

OLD BUSINESS:   

None

NEW BUSINESS: 

  1. By Laws policy update: Priest moved to approve the proposed updates to the HCL By Laws policy.  Starnes seconded.  The motion carried unanimously.

Starnes moved to adjourn at 7:10 PM.
