Join us on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm for a book talk and book signing with Michaelann Stanley as she presents her book, Herrin’s Italian History… More than Spaghetti & Meatballs! Mrs. Stanley is a long-time resident of southern Illinois, and a foreign language teacher.

Herrin flourished after its Italian residents settled. However, with the passing years, the Italian culture that once defined the town has been disappearing. With the help of her 1999-2004 middle school students, Mrs. Stanley conducted interviews and collected family stories. The book combines this information with the hope of engaging and informing readers of all backgrounds, as well as serving as a valuable resource for historians.

This event is presented by the Herrin History Room, and is free and open to the public.
