The 100th Anniversary of the Herrin Massacre with Jon Musgrave
The Herrin City Library remembers the 100th anniversary of the Herrin Massacre on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm with a presentation by Jon Musgrave as our guest speaker. The Herrin Massacre took place on June 21-22,1922, during a nation-wide coal mining strike. The event is free and open to the public. You may also attend the presentation via ZOOM. The link for the presentation will be available one week before the event and will be posted here on our website and on our Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/herrincitylibrary.

Jon Musgrave is a native of southern Illinois. He has long found its history quite dramatic and has written, co-authored, or edited eight books about the region. He has appeared on-camera as a historical expert on the area’s history for both The History Channel and the Investigation Discovery Channel.
